Multiplying Clean Ginger Workshop
Feb. 9, 2019 Mala Ho`oulu `Ike held a workshop that focused on multiplying clean ginger in 7 gal. pots. We were so pleased with the outcome of how many families participated; together we planted a total of 50 pots of ginger. 30 of which went home with our families who will monitor and receive updates on when to fertilize & add dirt to their plants.
It is estimated; 1-3 pieces of ginger can generate up to 10lbs in 1 year with the proper care and watering. Ginger is low maintenance and always good to have on hand. The market for clean ginger is $8 per piece if selling to a farmer and $3.99/lb if bought in the store.
