M.A.L.A.M.A Aquaponics Program
In Partnership with Ke Kula Nui O Waimānalo.

In an effort to increase self sustainability and foster alternative avenues to food cultivation, Maku`u in partnership with Ke Kula Nui O Waimānalo and funded by the Count of Hawaii; Kilauea recovery Grant teamed up and was able to provide 10 `Ohana with a fully functional 3 bed aquaponics system. Everything that was needed, was provided; from the wood and paint to make the tables to the fish and fish food that would last over 1 year.

`Ohana met over zoom multiple times to learn about the system they would be taking home. They learned the set up, to trouble shooting along with what to do about pests and how to clean/eat your fish once it is of size.

Keiki from Kupuna participated in this workshop and brought each `Ohana closer while they worked together to take home their aquaponics system.
